A local little league softball squad has made the state tournament. The Knoxville Minor League won the District four championship last week and qualified for state. The team is an all star group of girls aged 8-10 from the Knoxville Little League this season. They beat Grinnell on Tuesday 13-1, downed New Sharon 12-2, and clinched the state berth against Mahaska American by winning 23-0. The team is asking for donations to pay for their trip to the state tournament. Knox Nutrition will also donate a portion of all sales and all tips to help with travel expenses next Saturday July 8th from 9:00am-2:00pm. If you want to send a donation mail to P.O. Box 311 Knoxville or you can donate through Venmo. Donations need to be received by July 11th. The State Tournament will take place in Sioux City July 12th-18th.
