The work on the north and south alleys of the Indianola downtown square continues, replacing the city parking lot in the south and utilities in both locations. Community and Economic Development Director Charlie Dissell tells KNIA News the updated timelines for completion of both areas of the project.

“On the south alley, we have a few months left on that. Right now I think we are assuming sometime in September that we’ll get that completed. The south alley is a little more complex because it has a parking lot. The north alley should be somewhere after that, with that one there isn’t a parking lot so it should go a little bit faster, but we anticipate that one being in the September/October timeframe being finished.”

Before extensive utility work was discovered in both locations, the timeline anticipated work on both alleys to be completed during the summer months.
