The Marion County Extension Office will host a Skill-A-Thon Contest at the Marion County Fair on Saturday, July 15th. 

The contest will be held in the tent by the Bingley Building at 2 p.m., with registration starting at 1:30 p.m.  According to 4-H summer intern Cameron Hiemstra, the Beef Skill-A-Thon tests individuals on anatomy, structure, wholesale meat cuts, breed identification and breed characteristics. 

There will be four age groups in the contest, with teams consisting of three to four participants. The age groups are kindergarten through third grade, fourth through seventh grade, eighth through 12th grade and adults.
