The road to repeating the feat that class 1A #12 Twin Cedars is set to travel to the softball regionals is very similar to last season. The Sabers will have home field advantage up until the regional final, providing Sigourney is the opponent. Tonight’s second round opponent is fellow Bluegrass Conference team Moravia. The Sabers rolled through the conference 16-0. Moravia finished in the middle with an 8-8 conference record and 12-21 overall. Sabers Coach Zack Dunkin knows his girls have the eye on Fort Dodge again this season, but it is one game at a time. He adds while they are a different team than last year’s, they still understand what it takes.
Dunkin: “We lost a lot in terms of experience and leadership from last year, but we still have a lot. We have 4 kids who still love to play and knows what it takes to compete with teams like that.”
Game time is at 7:00, the winner gets the survivor of the English Valleys and Tri-County contest on Friday.
