The Indianola baseball team wrapped up their regular season with a 6-4 win over North Polk Wednesday evening in a non-conference clash.
The Indians jumped all over the Comets from the start, scoring four runs through the first three innings to take a 4-0 lead. North Polk would get back into the contest with a three-run fifth, but the Indians answered with a pair of insurance runs and held off another Comets rally to earn the win.
Head coach Jon Fitzpatrick tells KNIA Sports the Indians know their roles offensively and defensively now, and what is expected of them, and the only thing left this season is to go out and play their best when it matters most.
They end their regular season with a record of 27-9, and will host Cedar Rapids Jefferson tomorrow in the substate quarterfinal round.
