The Knoxville Raceway played host to over 90 sprint cars on Saturday night as more drivers started to wander in to cut laps in preparation for the Knoxville Nationals. One driver that they will have to beat is likely Brian Brown in the 410s as he won his 64th career race at Knoxville. Starting 8th due to the invert rule, Brown wasted no time getting to the front and by lap eight he was out in front and was never really challenged until the final restart on a green/white/checkered finish. Brown told KNIA/KRLS Sports that since he and crew chief Chad Morgan reunited this season, they have taken a different approach to working together.
Brown “When Chad and I got back together we’re not going to argue, just get after it and work together. Sometimes it’s not going to be perfect, tonight we almost were quick time, 2nd in the heat and won the A.”
Chase Randall won his second straight 360 feature, passing Davey Heskin with two laps to, and Mike Mayberry took advantage of a mechanical failure on Josh Jones car to take the Pro Sprints win. Next Saturday is Marion County Fair Night and all three classes will run plus the annual appearance by the DTRA Trucks.
