The Knoxville School Board approved a resolution to add continued participation in the Instructional Support Program to the election ballot in November at their meeting Monday night.

The board held a public hearing on the topic, and with no opposition, passed the resolution to direct the county commissioner of elections to include the matter in the upcoming election. Knoxville Community School District Business Manager Craig Mobley says that continued participation in the program would have no effect on taxpayer dollars.

“In November at the School Board Election, voters will see a question on the ballot for that continued participation. I want everyone to know this is a program this school district has had for over twenty years. It’s nothing new, it’s not a new tax, it’s just a renewal of a program that we currently have, and it would renew for an additional ten years.”
