Radar at 3:45 a.m. on 7/12/2023

A round of radar-indicated hail prompted a severe thunderstorm warning in southern Marion County this morning. The KNIA/KRLS Severe Weather Action Team was on the air from 3:15 to just before 4 a.m. for a storm capable of producing ping-pong ball sized hail southeast of Melcher-Dallas and near Columbia. The cluster of storms also brought heavy rain to parts of the county in excess of an inch in some locations in as little as 30 minutes. Another round of storms is possible later in the morning.
