This week’s theme for Thursdays in Pella features local first responders and military veterans. Heroes Among Us highlights emergency response vehicles from Pella Fire, Ambulance, and Police, as well as the Marion County Sheriff’s Office, as well as the various dogs supporting those organizations. Activities are also being hosted by local Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts. American Legion Post 89 will be hosting a presentation of colors on the Tulip Toren at 6 p.m., followed by a reading of local flag essay winners and a demonstration by Pella Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. This week’s City Band performance at 8 p.m. will also feature the Union Street Players ahead of their upcoming performances of The Music Man. The KNIA/KRLS Lil’ Big Red Radio is broadcasting weekly from Thursdays in Pella.
