A send off for the Knoxville Little League Minor League softball team will take place today as they head off to the state tournament in Sioux City. 

The team will depart from the old Knoxville middle school and they will travel south down highway 14. The all-star team is made up of a group of girls between the ages of 8-10 years old from Knoxville Little League. To reach the state tournament, the Knoxville Minor league softball squad defeated Grinnell 13-1, New Sharon 12-2, and Mahaska American 23-0.

The send-off is at 10:00 a.m. and the community is encouraged to line the street with signs and well wishes to show support for the team.
