The Warren County Board of Supervisors approved the creation of a new task force to help battle the opioid epidemic in Warren County. Task Force Chair Crystal McIntyre tells KNIA News the task force will use funds from multiple sources that includes a large settlement from drug companies, and the mission is to expand services for Warren County residents who are in need of help.

“What we are trying to do is maybe set up a department under Public Health that will address opioid use, those who are addicted and affected by it, and make those resources readily available to them. Either financially or physically, we haven’t come to all of that yet, but I feel like we are on the right path.”

The task force includes McIntyre, Public Health Director Dr. Joelle Stolte, Warren County Attorney Doug Eichholz, Warren County Sheriff Joe Carico, and Betsy Stursma with CICS. For more information, tune in to today’s Let’s Talk Indianola.
