The Knoxville School Board approved changes to the community school district employee handbook at their meeting on Monday.

New Employees at Knoxville Schools will have a 30 day introductory period before they are eligible for benefits and paid time off will begin the first of the month after that same time frame.

Another change is regarding employee vacation time. Each employee currently starts off with ten days of vacation. Knoxville Community School District Human Resources Director Linda Russell talked about the added vacation days to employees in the handbook update.

“This change will allow them to add one additional day for each full year of full contract time that they work, so in their first year they’ll have ten days, the next year will be eleven, then twelve and so on up to a max of twenty days.”

The employee handbook for Knoxville Community School District is reviewed every year.
