While not quite at 100 percent just yet, the Pella Community Food Shelf is opening to patrons at its new location today. Volunteers will welcome their guests into the building at 1111 West 16th Street during normal operating hours between 8 and 9 a.m. and again from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. on Tuesdays. Those in need of assistance should stay parked in their cars in the west lot of the building until they can come inside to choose groceries. Executive Director Melissa Zula is thankful for the community support they are receiving to keep their shelves full and for the purchase of and renovations to the Pella Food Shelf’s new permanent home.
