The Iowa Legislature was called into a special session last week by Governor Reynolds, passing a six-week abortion ban after the Iowa Supreme Court declined to reinstate a previous ban passed by the legislature. State Representative Brooke Boden tells KNIA News this was an issue she campaigned on from the beginning and was in support of the same bill that was passed previously, and there are provisions in the bill that allow for exceptions.
“This bill does allow for exceptions, for the life of the mother if there is a health concern, and for rape and incest. There are exceptions in the bill, and it does wait until the heartbeat is detected.”
