The Knoxville chapter of Freedom for Youth will be partnering with the local DNR for two upcoming events.
On August 1st, the DNR will be holding a scavenger hunt for Freedom for Youth elementary at the North Overlook Playscape from 10-12. The following morning, the DNR will be leading the middle school and high school students on a kayaking excursion from 10-11:30. The organization has a large variety of events that span across the entire year.
Freedom for Youth is a free program open to any student in the community from K-12. They have weekly programming divided into elementary school, middle school and high school age levels.
Knoxville Freedom for Youth Program Coordinator Christy Meissner said the program is based on four core values.
“We primarily focus on faith, education, employment and leadership and so that is a part of all the programs that we offer.”
