The top two seeds will fight for a class 1A state softball championship tonight, as #1 Martensdale-St. Mary’s will take on #2 North Linn. The Blue Devils narrowly defeated Fort Dodge-St. Edmond 1-0 in the opening round before demolishing Wayne in the semifinal round 9-0, while North Linn had a pair of one-run victories over Sigourney and Clarksville. The Blue Devils have had dominant pitching from Campbell German, who gave up just one hit in each of the first two games, and went 5-6 at the plate. The championship game is tonight in Fort Dodge at 7:30pm.
