Two men from the Quad Cities were arrested Wednesday for Forgery at Marion County Bank in Knoxville.

 

According to court records, at around 1:30pm on Wednesday officers responded to Marion County Bank for a report of two individuals possessing and attempting to cash two fraudulent checks. The individuals were identified as 25-year-old Caleb Essary of East Moline, IL and 44-year-old Lonnie Jones of Davenport.

 

The criminal complaint states that the two men each tried to cash a check for over $5,000 that were reportedly from a company based in Pella. The checks were identified as fraudulent and the two subjects were arrested and transported to the Marion County Jail. They are both being charged with forgery, a class D felony. Jones also is being charged with possession of drug paraphernalia due to a glass pipe being discovered during a search. 

 

Essary and Jones are both due in court for a preliminary hearing on July 27th. They are being held in the Marion County Jail on a $5,000 bond.
