Former Twin Cedars Softball Standout Grace Bailey was back at the State Tournament on Thursday to receive an award for her efforts during last year’s state title run with the Sabers. Bailey received the Jack North Softball Award. The award is given to the senior that receives the most votes on the all-tournament team at the previous year’s State Tournament. Bailey led the Sabers last season in several categories in hits, RBIs, doubles, triples, home runs and was named captain of the class 1A all-tournament team after leading the Sabers to the 1A State Championship last summer. Her State Tournament was highlighted by a two run home run in extra innings to knock off Lisbon in the first round. Bailey is continuing her education and career at DMACC. This spring she batted .250 with 12 hits and 17 RBI with one home run. In the circle, she went 2-1 with three saves, striking out 14 and posted a 2.07 ERA. DMACC finished with a 54-12 record qualifying for the NJCAA Division II World Series where the Bears finished in 3rd place.
