The Indianola City Council reviewed budget procedures and planning for the future budget year at their most recent meeting, which includes policies on how to interact with the city regarding budget ideas and recommendations. City Manager Ben Reeves tells KNIA News a lot of budget planning is expected to be face-to-face at council meetings.

“We as city staff work at the pleasure of the Mayor and Council, and we want to make sure that our budget is in line and in harmony with what they are establishing for the goals and priorities for our community. We are adjusting the way we do things, increasing transparency, and putting our department heads in front of our council members side-by-side so all of the issues and requests are all listened to at the same time, so they can better prioritize and make decisions in the best interest of our residents.”
