Our #9 moment in our top ten area sports countdown takes us to Twin Cedars. To say the least, the football fortunes for the Sabers have not been great. Since 2017, the Sabers have posted a 12-42 record. But on October 7th, the Sabers broke a long and frustrating streak when they won a game on the field for the first time in two seasons defeating Woodward Academy 36-14. The Sabers were able to jump out to a 22-6 lead by the 4th quarter and coasted to the win. Dallas Smith had 177 yards and three touchdowns, Nate Curry had 113 yards receiving and he also added 109 yards on the ground. The previous year, the Sabers received a forfeit win to Woodward Academy for their only win of the 2021 season. The last time Twin Cedars had won on the field before last fall was a week two game against Seymour in 2019.
