The Indianola City Council received a presentation regarding forming the budget for FY2025 at their meeting last week, which involves the council discussing budget priorities with various department heads during council meetings. City Manager Ben Reeves tells KNIA News there are multiple ways the public can get involved, including being a candidate in the upcoming city council elections, participating in the Indianola University courses, or simply attending the council meetings.
“This is actually more exciting than you think. We’d love to have the public come out and participate all the way through, because a community’s values are really tied to its fiscal spending. You can tell what a community cares about by how it’s allocating its dollars. So the more involvement, the better.”
