The top 10 countdown of moments from Central College in the past year takes us back to the NCAA Division III Indoor Track and Field Championships on Friday, March 10th.
The Dutch women’s track and field team added its first track event All-Americans since 2015, as the the distance medley relay team raced to a fifth-place finish. To do so, Megan Johnson, Abbi Roerdink, Peyton Steffen and Caroline McMartin dropped 10 seconds off of the school record that they set at the Wartburg Final Qualifier on Friday, March 3. At the National Meet, the four Central runners ran the event in 11 minutes, 44.98 seconds to outperformer their qualifying seed of 10th by five positions.
It was the first All-American accolades for Johnson, Roerdink and Steffen, while McMartin had previously earned All-American honors during the cross country season. Central’s women’s team had not scored at an indoor meet since 2016, prior to this past season.
