Counting down the top moments of the 2022-23 year for Indianola High School continuing with #7.

The Indianola football team made a trip to Bondurant-Farrar in district play in week 8, and came up short against the Blue Jays 28-14, being held to just 200 yards of offense and failing to score in the second half. After the Indians qualified to the postseason as an at-large bid, they were assigned a return trip to Bondurant-Farrar in the first round. And this game went much differently.

After a scoreless first quarter, the Indians exploded for 21 points in the second quarter while holding the Blue Jays scoreless, which included an 85-yard blocked field goal return for a touchdown by Josh Eilers.

Both teams scored a pair of touchdowns in the second half, as the Indians acquired their second straight year with a postseason win and entrance into the quarterfinal round, where they fell to eventual state champion Cedar Rapids Xavier.
