Stepping Stones Early Learning Center in Knoxville received a $25,000 donation from the Knoxville Community Foundation Wednesday.
The donation is a contribution to Stepping Stone’s “Step Up” capital campaign. The goal of the capital campaign is to raise $600,000 to pay off the loan from the original build and allow for payments to be redirected towards ongoing costs, improvements, wages, and potential expansion in the future.
Knoxville Community Foundation President Dylan Morse says getting rid of this debt is crucial for the future of Stepping Stones.
“Getting this debt out of the way for Stepping Stones, not only is it going to help them with their cash flow and things like that. They will be able to provide better wages for their childcare providers and things like that now but it’s also going to kind of clear the decks and make it possible to one day expand in the future if that becomes a need which we all certainly hope it does”
