The Marion County Public Health Department wants to help spread tobacco prevention awareness for high school students.

The Public Health Department is offering a program called “My Life My Quit” to help students from middle school and up to stop vaping and using any tobacco products. The program has different sessions that give students information and confidential people to talk to about wanting to quit using tobacco products.

Public Health Tobacco Prevention Coordinator Del Bennett said vaping has become such an issue that it even occurs at school.

“It’s very easily accessible and it’s kind of sneaky the way that they do it because even a regular pen, it could be actually a vaping device and the teacher wouldn’t even know so they’re doing it right at school.”
