While we take a break from the top ten countdown for our area schools, there were some events that did not quite make the top ten. One was the annual Marion County 8 Man Championship in which for the second straight season, Melcher-Dallas won with a convincing 44-6 victory. That win marked the longest winning streak by either team in the series. The rivals are scheduled to play on September 15th this fall. Another event that makes the honorable mention was the Twin Cedars Girls Basketball Squad for the second straight season made the Bluegrass Conference tournament championship game. The Sabers would fall to Ankeny Christian 57-15. We will resume our area top ten countdown on Monday with #5.
