Carousel Theatre in Indianola is performing The Little Mermaid tonight and tomorrow. Director Alex Lindsley tells KNIA News the show follows the story we all know and love from the Disney movie, but there are some slight changes that will make the Carousel Theatre production of the show.

“We get to play around with how scenes progress. Where do they come from, what are they saying, and what are the different motivations of the scene? We don’t have any recreated choreography, everything is completely original. Our sets are completely original, they don’t even look like what they were on the Broadway version. We are having a lot of fun getting to recreate this classic world of The Little Mermaid, and play around with where does it live? How does it exist, and who gets to live there?”

Lindsley also said this is the return to a bigger venue, as the shows will be in the Indianola High School Auditorium tonight at 7pm and tomorrow at 2pm in addition to August 4th, 5th, and 6th.
