Drought conditions remained mostly the same in south central Iowa in the latest weekly update.
The entire State of Iowa remains in drought as well. According to the U.S. Drought Monitor, moderate drought is impacting most of Marion and Warren Counties, and severe conditions are in place in the southeast corner of Marion County. Abnormally dry conditions are present in the northeast corner.
Marion and Warren counties have seen a lack of rain over the last week but a few chances for showers and scattered storms are in the forecast for the upcoming week, according to the National Weather Service.
