A difficult road to the top four of Iowa girls tennis gets us to #5 on the countdown of top moments from Pella High School in 2022-23.

On May 16th, it was a thriller of a match with a state quarterfinals bid on the line at Eagle Lane as the Tulip City Showdown renewed in the regional tennis playoffs. It took super tiebreakers in two of the singles matches and the final two active doubles competitions to settle the score between #7 in 1A Pella and #9 in 1A Pella Christian, with the Dutch winning 5-3.

INTERVIEW POST PC IN MAY:

One year ago, the journey ended for the Pella girls team against perennial powerhouse Assumption in the state quarterfinals. On May 20th, 2023, the Dutch were able to flip the script, and pulled off an upset of the #2 Knights to advance to the final four. Pella defeated Davenport Assumption 5-3 in Fairfield. The Dutch would finish 4th in Class 1A.
