The city of Melcher-Dallas is under a boil advisory until further notice due to a city water main being hit. 

According to Melcher-Dallas Public Works Director Gary Comer, the order will last until further notice. Comer added that he will need to collect two water samples to test the water for bacteria before the advisory can be lifted, and those collections must be done 16-24 hours apart. The water in the town will be shut off for 3-5 hours today until a valve can be fixed.
