The Knoxville Police Department wants to remind anyone coming to the Knoxville Nationals to drink responsibly.

The Nationals, which is one of the largest events in the state every year, bring in thousands of people to the Knoxville community. Knoxville Police Chief Aaron Fuller wants everyone to have fun at the event, but also to consume alcohol responsibly.

“Alcohol is a big thing during the nationals. Most people drink responsibly, some people don’t. We just encourage everybody, whether you’re walking back to your campgrounds or wherever you’re staying or especially if you’re driving, don’t drink too much and if you do make sure and have a ride. Make sure and have a sober ride. Nobody wants to get an OWI and worse nobody wants to get into an accident and potentially hurt somebody seriously or kill them.”
