The Knoxville Nationals are fast approaching and the Knoxville Police Department wants to remind everyone to be kind to public safety officials and other community workers.

The Nationals, which is one of the largest events in the state every year brings in thousands of people to the Knoxville community. With the large influx of people, it is important to be considerate to public safety officials and others working in the community.

Knoxville Police Chief Aaron Fuller says it can be stressful for his department this time of year, but he wants everyone to have an enjoyable time.

“We’re stretched pretty thin. At times it can be stressful for us and business owners. We want to have fun and we want people to have fun too. Again, our number one goal is public safety but at the same time we want to make sure that the people who are going to come spend their week with us have a great time because that’s what they’re here for.”
