While the 2023/2024 school and athletic year will start soon in Knoxville, the staff and athletic department is looking at many facility upgrades not only in the coming year, but are proud of the many upgrades that have already happened. Activities Director Ryan Paulsen tells KNIA/KRLS Sports the new backstop at the softball field was a welcome sign of progress and a new scoreboard and lights at Randy Wilson Track will soon be installed. But the thing he is most proud of is the new middle school connecting to the existing high school. Paulsen says no longer do fans have to travel across town to see one game, and then travel back to see another game.

Paulsen: “It’s a lot easier no to have a basketball mega night. Fans don’t have to travel a mile away, tey are just steps away from another game. The track and field throwing facilities are also a nice change.”

And while the school is not actively involved, fans will see a brand new seating and baseball complex when next season rolls around.
