After losing several key contributors and a large senior class in 2022, the Indianola football team comes into 2023 with a lot of unknowns coming off of a quarterfinal appearance in class 4A. The Indians will have to rebuild nearly the entire defense, with only several players having varsity experience.
Head coach Eric Kluver tells KNIA Sports last year’s senior class bided their time to get a chance to play at the varsity level, and they won’t be easy to replace this year.
The Indians went 7-4 last season, falling to Cedar Rapids Xavier to end their season for the second straight year one game away from the UNI Dome.
