This week’s Pella City Council meeting was brief and focused on discussion. During policy and planning, the council talked briefly to hold the annual Beggar’s Night locally. Last year, the council was approached in October about holding the event on the Saturday before Halloween, but those discussions didn’t happen until late in the fall. The council did not take formal action, but did indicate support toward having the event on the holiday on October 31st. The council also received an update about Pella Community Ambulance and service outside of the city limits, and that a tentative agreement appears to be in place going forward. More details about the proposal will be released at upcoming council meetings as part of a 28E Agreement with surrounding townships.
