The Indianola School Board approved the district investigators and process for the 23-24 school year at their meeting Tuesday, setting the policy for school discipline. Superintendent Ted Ihns tells KNIA News the district policy is to keep school-related rule-breaking procedures decided by the individual principals, and what the school board approved was merely the policy the district will follow should anything be escalated.
“If it’s daily discipline that is something that the building principals will take care of. If it gets to something more severe, then it can be the building principals or myself, and then if it gets to something criminal or anything of that nature it can go to the Warren County Sheriff’s Office. But for the most part everything is done in-house, either through the building principals or myself.”
