The Norwalk boys golf team opened the dual season on Thursday with a nine-stroke win over Des Moines Roosevelt at Waveland Golf Course. The Warriors prevailed by a score of 160 to 169.
Norwalk junior Grady Sigrist shot a 38 for medalist honors and teammate Braylon Stockwell was the runner-up with a 39. Mason Johnson carded a 40 and Lane Juergens added a 43.
The Norwalk junior varsity posted a team score of 163 and won by 40 strokes, led by freshman Brant Gunsaulus’ round of 40.
The Warriors’ next meet is Wednesday, August 23, when they compete in the Johnston Dragon Invitational at Jester Park.
