The Simpson College men’s soccer team was voted into a tie for fourth in the American Rivers Conference Preseason Coaches’ Poll, released on Wednesday.
The Storm tied Nebraska Wesleyan for fourth place with 40 points each. The defending regular season champions Loras was selected in first place with five first-place votes and 59 total points. Tournament champs Luther received three first place votes and 55 points. Before Simpson and Nebraska Wesleyan, Wartburg was selected third with 46 points. Dubuque took sixth with 34 points, before Central (25 points), Coe (16 points), and Buena Vista (nine points) completed the poll. Top returners for the Storm include Ronaldo Ordaz, 6 goals, 6 assists, and Matt Hasken 3 goals, 3 assists. Simpson starts their season on September 1st.
