Brooklynn Sedlock of Indianola earned a third-place finish overall at the Iowa State Fair Kid Chef Baking Championship competition. Contestants were challenged to create an award winning kid-prepared food item accompanied by a written story that told of why they chose that dish to enter. Entries were judged on flavor, appearance and attached written story. Sedlock also took home a first place finish in the Age 13-17 category.
In the Crochet Competition, local participants were well represented in the final standings including Keri Crowley of Indianola winning the Sweepstakes Award.
