The Pleasantville football team is hoping to find success in their non-district schedule to start the season.

The Trojans’ non-district games this year will feature contests against Interstate 35, Woodward Granger, and Lynnville-Sully. The three teams combined for a regular season record of 17-9 last season, with Lynnville-Sully advancing to the state semi-finals.

Pleasantville Head Football Coach Mack Jorth says the team is aware of the strength of their non-district schedule.

“Having I-35 right off the bat is a good common opponent that we’ve seen quite often and a very physical opponent so they will be tough. Woodward-Granger has been on our schedule being a conference opponent as well in the past. They are also very good. New system over there, doing a really good job building up a playoff caliber football team. Lynnville- Sully is going to be just absolutely loaded again like they were last year. Lost some pieces but got plenty back. They’re going to be tough.”

Pleasantville travels to Truro next Friday to take on the Interstate 35 Roadrunners in their season opener.
