Classes begin for most students in Pella on Wednesday and both the public and private schools in the community.

Pella Police Captain Paul Haase reminds anyone driving near the campuses of schools that vehicle and pedestrian traffic will be increased, primarily in the block made up from East 8th Street, Vermeer Road, East 13th Street, and University Street as well as Main and Broadway Streets for Pella Community Schools, and Liberty Street, Oskaloosa Street, Roosevelt Road and Eagle Lane for Pella Christian Schools.

Additionally, Haase says the department is working with Pella Schools Administration to manage traffic flow near Jefferson Intermediate and Pella Middle School due to ongoing construction.

Classes begin for all K-12 students at Pella Community Schools and Pella Christian Grade School, as well as new students at Pella Christian High School on Wednesday.
