Knoxville Middle School students are heading back to school in year two of the new building.

School will start on Thursday and students in Knoxville have the opportunity to spend their days in a school building that is less than a year old. The Middle School opened for students in October last year as students and staff transitioned from the old building on North Lincoln Street.

Knoxville Middle School Principal Brian McNeil mentioned that the students take pride in their new building.

“I think kids just take pride in the building a little bit more. You see them moving along talking and I think part of that comes from we’ve given them a little bit more freedom. We’re not lining up and moving to classes, we’re dismissing and so it gives students that little bit of social time. Even though they have that passing time they have to stay within it still gives them a little time and I think they really enjoy that.”
