The Pleasantville volleyball team fell in their season opener to #1 ranked Des Moines Christian.
The Trojans lose in straight sets to the Lions. The first set was close, with the Lions taking it 25-22 and the following two sets the Trojans were defeated 25-14 and 25-17.
Pleasantville Volleyball Coach Joel Allman was pleased with how his team competed against such a tough opponent.
“I told the girls that coming into this that we don’t want to fear anybody. We’re going to respect every opponent no matter who they are but we’re not going to fear them. We’re going to try and compete and I was really happy that our girls went out and competed and I never felt like besides maybe the second set that we stopped competing against them.”
Pleasantville will next host a triangular on Thursday against Interstate 35 and Chariton.
