The Twin Cedars Volleyball Squad debuted the 2023 season and suffered a 3-2 setback to East Union on Tuesday night. The Sabers fell behind in the 1st set and seemed to settle down after scoring nine straight points to take control and win that set 25-20. But the visiting Eagles took control winning sets two and three 25-20 and 25-22, putting the Sabers in a must win for the remainder of the match. Twin Cedars would for the most part control the fourth set to win 25-19 to force set five, but serving and hitting errors cost the Sabers the match in the final set falling 15-11. Coach Theresa Davis told KNIA/KRLS Sports, a lot of hitting errors and still figuring out rotations were a big key in the match. Jillian French led with ten kills and Cristen Durian had five kills plus four service aces. Twin Cedars is 0-1 and will head to the Lynnville-Sully quad on Thursday where the Sabers are set to play the host Hawks, PCM, and Newton.
