While many people outside of the Christian schools in Pella associate the two buildings closely, they’ve been separate entities for some time until an integration process started a few years ago.

Head of Schools Dan Zylstra was hired in part to bring the two schools together, and he says they have made progress in combining resources and efforts during his tenure and just before his arrival.

Zylstra says he’s been sending out regular updates explaining why Pella Christian Grade School and High School should combine resources — and that has included his position, a social media and website merger, and other staff changes.

He says Pella Christian High School has been more regional, as they accept several students each year from Sully, Peoria, Oskaloosa, and other surrounding communities.
