The 2023 Pleasantville football season got off on the right note Friday night with a 31-7 win over Interstate 35.
Pleasantville running back Caleb Cook stole the show Friday with a staggering five touchdowns in the first game of his senior season. Following the exciting win, Trojans head coach Mack Jorth said that beating a good Roadrunners squad will benefit them later in the season..
“When you open with a tough team it helps you see right away where you’re at. Like scrimmaging a 3A football team. You just get a real good amount of feedback right away to see where are you and what you need to work on. We will go look at the tape tomorrow and get a good idea of the things we need to improve on and rea;ly get some good feedback on what things we do well and what things we need to keep working on.”
Pleasantville is back in action next Friday, hosting Woodward-Granger.
