Students from the first ever Spanish Immersion classes at Pella Christian Schools are set to graduate later this school year.

For the first time since the program started 11 years ago, Pella Christian has students in every class from preschool through 12th grade that have participated in Spanish Immersion. With the first bilingual students at the school set to graduate this year, Pella Christian Grade School Principal Ben Dirksen said that it’s exciting knowing all the possibilities that are now have ahead of them.

“We have students who are graduating that can speak two languages in a beautiful way. So, their world is now open to more places and more people and we think that’s pretty cool. And we want to celebrate that, because it’s not easy to pioneer, it’s not easy to blaze a trail but these students have done an excellent job. But we’re also celebrating the growth that we now have. We are scaled all the way through.”
