The Knoxville Public Library wants to be a resource for all local students who have started back at school.
The local library, which was recently accredited by the State Library of Iowa, offers a large variety of programs and resources for students of all ages.
They have a monthly calendar with activities that appeal to a wide variety of audiences to try and get students to spend some of their free time at the library. Along with all genres of books, the library offers free wifi and many different types of media material available to check out.
Knoxville Adult Services Librarian Heather Libby says “story time” is a way to engage younger readers.
“Story time will start up again in September and that’s to get kids interested and engaged in literature at a young age so watch your calendar for dates and times for that. Ms. Holly, our youth services librarian, does a really good job paying attention to the school calendar so almost always if there is a day off or an in-service day or something like that, we have something fun going on.”
