Indianola Football Travels to Norwalk
The #5 Indianola football team matches up with #2 Norwalk in a top-five Warren County rivalry game tonight, with both teams off to impressive starts to the season after week one victories. The Warriors blew out Carlisle 52-32 in week one, using an impressive passing attack that saw them throw for nearly 400 yards and five touchdowns. The Indians win was much more defensive oriented, as they held the Urbandale J-Hawks to just 33 yards of offense in their 31-0 victory. Head coach Eric Kluver said the Indians will have to make sure the Warriors receivers don’t get downfield, and they need to put pressure on the quarterback to win.
“We don’t want it to become a track meet, because that is just not how we are doing to win games this year. We want to play great defense, we want to keep possession and sustain drives and allow our defense to rest on the sideline. Then we obviously need to capitalize in the red zone and score points.”
The game will be broadcast live on 94.3 KNIA, with Andrew Swadner and Rick Wilson on the call. Pregame coverage begins at 6:30pm, with kickoff at 7pm.
