The Knoxville Community School District approved the purchase of a new field painter at their meeting on Monday.
The new painter from Pioneer athletics will cost $16,594.20 and will be used to paint lines at the baseball field, softball field, practice fields, and Ken Locke Stadium. The reason for the purchase was the old field painter was no longer working properly.
KCSD Business Manager Craig Mobley talked about the difficulty of painting lines without the proper working equipment.
“It’s difficult to paint those lines without the right ride on painter so just looking at getting a new one of those, so hopefully we have that here soon so our maintenance crew can stop having to manually push the painter across the field.”
